The India Meteorological Department said that the southwest monsoon had reached the south Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands and south Bay of Bengal by Tuesday afternoon. The Nicobar Islands have been receiving heavy rains for the past two days in view of the onset of the monsoon.
నైరుతి రుతుపవనాలు మంగళవారం మధ్యాహ్నం నాటికి అవి దక్షిణ అండమాన్ సముద్రం, నికోబార్ దీవులు, దక్షిణ బంగాళాఖాతానికి చేరినట్లు భారత వాతావరణ విభాగం పేర్కొంది. రుతుపవనాల ఆగమనం దృష్ట్యా గత రెండు రోజులుగా నికోబార్ దీవుల్లో భారీ వర్షాలు కురుస్తున్నాయని పేర్కొంది.
